Getting To Know Blush & Pose Photography
This is a collaborative post on Getting To Know Blush & Pose Photography.
Today I’d like to introduce you to Blush & Pose Photography through a little interview and some of their images. Please see below for their story and their work.
Blush & Pose Photography is a husband and wife wedding photography team, based in Australia. Their contemporary style is both classic and timeless. In addition to photographing weddings in Australia, they are also destination photographers, servicing the United Kingdom & Europe.
How long have you been into photography?
We have both loved photography for a long time. However, we became serious about it and made it our full time job about 5 years ago.
When did you start your photography business and what made you start?
Our photography journey started in Tasmania, Australia, where we ran our photo booth hire business. Our photo booth was so popular and before we knew it, we had a wedding to attend every weekend, sometimes even two. After a year or so, we were keen to expand our business and therefore moved into photography too. After 5 years of working in the industry, we have never looked back.
How far will you travel to photograph a wedding?
While, we are based in Adelaide, Australia, we also extend our services to destination weddings. We’ve been fortunate enough to have captured many weddings abroad, including Manchester, UK as well as Paris.
Do you offer other services apart from wedding photography?
As professional photographers, our main area is wedding photography. Although, as time goes on, and with greater exposure, we’ve also been asked to capture family photography, along with various types event photography, including corporate events as well as commercial photography. In addition, we’re also gaining requests for wedding videography.
Tell me about your style?
We describe our style as timeless and modern, with that light and airy kind of feel. Photography styles change so quickly, so we avoid the use of washed out filters. Our editing style depicts a true representation of your wedding day. We’re big fans of natural light, along with a touch of mood, and on the day we provide a good variation of candid and traditional photos.
Do you have a favourite camera/technical kit?
We love the nifty fifty from canon (50mm f1.8) because it can be used to capture beautiful details as well as portraits. However, we also love a good zoom lens like the canon EF 70-300mm, f4-5.6 lens to capture those documentary photos, all while being discreet.
What makes you different to your competitors?
It is hard to find two photographers for the price of one. This is definitely a bonus when you book through us. Furthermore, you can add on our photo booth hire or videography to each package, which is a real cost saver.
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
The excitement of photographing a wedding is something we always look forward to and seeing how every little detail has come together. It’s a joy to see each couple’s personality come through on their wedding day. The fact that we’re chosen as a photographer is a real honour too.
In your opinion, what do you think makes the perfect photo?
A gorgeous sharp image, with some bokeh, edited to reveal its natural colours, without hiding behind poor filters.
What advice would you give couples when choosing their wedding photographer?
Do your research and always meet your photographers. Get to know each other and ask to see more of their portfolio, along with any products they sell. Why not ask if they also offer engagement shoots, so you can see their work firsthand, before committing. This is also a fun way to feel at ease with the photographer you choose.
Can you give me some information on your pricing?
No wedding is too big or too small for us. We cater for each couple and offer packages to suit all Weddings. We recommend getting in touch for a unique quote if need be.
What is your perfect way to spend a day off?
A sleep in, followed by a drive to a new place where we’ve never explored, then ending the day at one of our favourite restaurants.
If you weren’t running your business, what would you be doing?
My husband would be a lawyer, as this is what he was studying prior to getting into photography and I would be working as an Audiologist. Other than that, we’d probably be travelling the world.
