This beautiful couple had their wedding at the Beverly Hills hotel. The ceremony was beautiful and the ballroom design and lighting made it perfect for our team to capture breathtaking shots.
Q and A with the couple: Vanessa-Arya Wedding-Beverly Hills Hotel
Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
Our wedding was so beautiful we couldn’t believe we had planned such an event. We had the best time of our lives dancing and enjoying every minute of our special day with our loved ones. Our vision was to see everyone having the time of their lives dancing and mingling, and that is exactly what happened – the ballroom was filled with 450 guests that had such loving and vibrant energy flowing through the event.
We were inspired by so many wedding magazines, websites, and our event planner Tessa. We wanted to have a very formal, classy, royal themed wedding that rained with so many white flowers and a hint of gold and champagne. Our ceremony was in the garden under a beautiful fully covered floral gazebo where we had a Bahai and Catholic ceremonies so both of our religions were covered during our wedding.
Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?
Our ceremony was a gazebo structure created with hanging orchids and white roses and it felt like a drop of heaven. All white carpet leading the stage underneath the hanging orchids. Candles surrounded the whole ceremony making it so romantic.
What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?
Flowers played a huge part of our wedding. We had all types of white flowers throughout the whole ballroom. Our ceremony was a gazebo structure created with hanging orchids and white roses all around. We had candle centerpieces with white florals surrounded by them. The ballroom had white carpet laid down so everything matched, the chairs were very classy white sued with the rim that had gold trimmings. Some tables had some very tall clear vases filled with white and champagne florals. They played a huge part to the overall theme of the wedding.
Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
Favorite Part was dancing on stage being able to see all of our friends and family on the dance floor enjoying their time. Our floral Peacock that was the main attraction for our guests to take photos and be shocked with how many flowers were in one piece.
Let’s talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.
My wedding day look was inspired by trying on multiple dresses from multiple designers and choosing bits and pieces that I loved. I was blessed to have Ryan & Walter bridal design my dress, the dress was unique in its own way, sexy and classy in one.
How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
My husband and I met freshman year in college at a friend’s birthday party. He asked our mutual friend Sam who I was and he played match maker. We went on our first date and hit it off immediately. We spent everyday together getting to know one another. Months later he asked me to be his official girlfriend. Fast forward 8 years later, he surprised me at “The Perch” rooftop in downtown where he had a private event decorated for our family and closest friends to be present at our proposal.
He had told me we were going on a double date with our friends to a helicopter ride. I believed him but little did I know it would be the best day of my life. He left to the bathroom while his friends distracted me and slipped into the side of the rooftop where he was waiting on one knee with both our families and friends behind him. My heart sank and having those I loved witness the most memorable and amazing day of my life was icing on the cake for me. My dad was there with open arms ready to hug me as he handed me over. I have never seen so many tears of joy in one room, even the men were in tears. It was just beautiful and everything I dreamed of.
What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
Our most special moment of our wedding day was walking down the aisle with my father to meet my husband.
Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
The advice I would share with everyone is to enjoy every minute of their wedding day. From the moment you wake up, it should feel magical. Don’t stress on how everything will look, what everyone will say, and let the day flow and enjoy every moment with your loved ones. Nothing will ever be perfect if there are flaws it’s okay, smile and move on with the day.
