How could you not be in love with this wedding. The deep reds, white and wisps of greenery make this special day so romantic and elegant.Ā
Q and A:Ā
Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
We wanted to get the feeling of a modern, Jewish wedding. We incorporated Jewish traditions throughout the day: the Ketubah signing, breaking the glass, the horah and chair-lifts, and the kosher food.
Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?
We relied on Meant2Be to help with most of the decor! We had a few special family items that made it into the decor – for example, a prayer-book and lucky penny that the bride walked down the aisle with – but we mostly wanted color and happiness.
What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?
We used mainly roses. We had rose petals down the aisle, and the bride and bridesmaids all held roses. The centerpieces were a mix of flowers in varying heights and candelabras.
Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
We loved the ENTIRE wedding.
Let’s talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.
The bride wore a Oleg Cassini dress from David’s Bridal. It was a full ballgown, along with both a blusher and fingertip-length veil. The groom wore a navy blue suit, and made sure that he and all his groomsmen sported University of Arizona colors on their socks.
How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
We were high school sweethearts! We met when the bride was going into her sophomore year of high school and the groom into his senior year. We were both serving as camp counselors at Camp Swift, a camp for inner-city youth run in Prescott, and have been in love ever since. On the day of the proposal, a bird pooped on the groom (a lucky sign, so we’re told). He popped the question right under the Bay Bridge, as we watched the sunset.
What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
There was a moment in the ceremony where the Rabbi (who happened to be the bride’s mother) asked us to turn around while we received a blessing from the 130 people in attendance. Watching everyone witness our ceremony and the love we have for each other was everything we could have asked for.
Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
Definitely hire a wedding planner! There are so many small details that crept up on us, and especially since we were getting married in different state than the one we lived in, we didn’t have to stress about making sure everything got done ourselves. We LOVED Tasha and the whole team at Meant2Be!!
