Once in a while, right in the middle of ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale. Mandy and Sean sure filled the world with sunshine on their wedding day, as they celebrated their love among the mountaintops.
Getting ready at Hotel Frisco in Frisco, Colorado was a special time between Mandy’s friends and family. Mandy had looked forward to getting ready with “the girls,” and from her floral silk robe to her long lace bridal gown and flower crown, she looked flawless the entire day. She and Sean opened gifts and notes from friends and family to prepare themselves for the big day.
Then, it was finally time for the ceremony. Everyone’s hearts were a flutter as the couple released butterflies at the mountainside ceremony, to signify the evolution of their relationship. The mere sight of it was nothing short of a fairy tale. The butterflies swarmed around the wedding party and gently landed on people’s hands, creating a uniquely sweet wedding memory for everyone around. Naturally, they were especially drawn to Mandy’s bouquet, which made for some gorgeous detail shots.
Add bubble blowing and a pop of champagne, and Mandy and Sean’s ceremony was a real treat to see and be a part of. All of this took place at the beautiful Sapphire Point Overlook in Dillon, a small ceremony venue on the edge of a mountain. Sapphire Point is surrounded by the pines of the White River National Forest, and offers incredible views of the Rocky Mountains and the Dillon Reservoir. It made the absolute perfect backdrop for couple photos of the bride and groom, bathed in sunlight and happiness.
After the ceremony, everyone headed to Bagalis Restaurant in Frisco to cap off the gorgeous evening. Overall, Mandy and Sean’s wedding was an unforgettable wedding experience for everyone involved.
Q and A with the couple: Mandy-Sean Wedding-Sapphire Point Overlook
Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
We wanted something small and romantic, so when we first saw Sapphire Point we knew it was perfect. We didn’t want something traditional and we had just moved to Colorado last year, so we felt it was the perfect place to begin our new life together.
Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?
Ali, our wedding planner, incorporated little details from our lives that tied it all together.
What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?
Petal and Bean did an amazing job with our flowers. I wanted the girls to have beautiful bouquets with bright colors that would contrast against the blues of the mountain scenery.
Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
We had a butterfly release, it was so fun!
Let’s talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.
I spent very little on my dress. I wanted something soft and simple that I could wear all night long and be comfortable, which I did. Sean designed his own look and pulled it off very well, he looked so handsome!
How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
We’ve known each other since college but didn’t start dating until we stared working together at a country club. Sean was so nervous to propose that he planned an entire day in NYC including a nice dinner and a walk through the botanical gardens and ended up waiting until we got all the way home. He asked me as soon as we got to the front door of our apartment!
What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
Calling each other husband and wife.
Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
Don’t stress, it’s one day!! And even if you’re only having 12 people attend (like us), do yourself a favor and hire a planner because you will still stress out!
