Jennifer Khai Vietnamese Wedding in Santa Fe Springs, California, USA
Jennifer Khai Vietnamese Wedding was gorgeous as you will see in the pictures below. It is a family wedding feature because Khai is my cousin. In addition to ceremony at the church and a reception, they had a Vietnamese tea and candle ceremony.
Khai met Jennifer in 2013 at a friend’s engagement party. After dating for 2 years, Khai proposed in May 2015. Jennifer and Khai wedding was in October 2016. In addition, Jennifer and Khai had a honeymoon in Japan.
Vietnamese Tea and Candle Ceremony:
So tradition is that groom and his family go to bride’s family house to ask for bride’s hand in marriage. Groom and his family carry gifts which then are given inside to the bride’s family. After families introduce themselves and groom gives the gifts to bride’s family, he then can see his bride. Then bride is escorted by her mother to meet her groom who gives her the bouquet. So pictures of Jennifer and Khai below show the traditional process that I mentioned. In addition, bride and groom go to altar inside the bride’s family in order to honor family ancestors and relatives. After that, families give bride and groom gifts.
In addition to traditional Vietnamese ceremony, Jennifer and Khai had a ceremony at a Catholic Church as shown below.
Bride, Groom, and Bridal Party:
So their reception included all of the usual American Wedding traditions. However, they also went from table to table of all the guests as a sign of respect per Vietnamese tradition.
Reception Venue – Clarke Estate.
Church – St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
Cake – Van’s Bakery.
Catering – Paracel.
Hair and Makeup – Triscy Nguyen.
Flower Girl Dresses – Amazon.
I hope you were inspired by Jennifer and Khai Vietnamese Wedding gorgeous pictures.
