Eva and Mark met in Blacksburg Virginia in May 2013 right before she graduated from Virginia Tech. Eva got an internship at UVA and after finishing up at Roanoke College, Mark accepted a job in Charlottesville, too.
A few short years later the couple had gone out to eat before a basketball game when the waitress brought a dessert plate to their table with “Eva, will you marry me?” written in caramel!
Their wedding took place at Carter Mountain Orchard just outside of Charlottesville. The venue, well-loved statewide for apple picking and stunning fall foliage, has recently become a popular location for weddings with the addition of a new pavillion and reception tent.
The bride and her bride tribe joyfully started their day at The Graduate Hotel with champagne toasts, hair and makeup and getting dressed. The friends enjoyed lots of singing along to music and laughter as they got ready.
Meanwhile, the groom and his groomsmen enjoyed some downtime before the ceremony at Carter Mountain Bold Rock where Mark’s mom helped the men put on their boutonnieres as they enjoyed some local cider.
The ceremony took place under the new covered pavilion next to the country store at the orchard. Guests had a perfect view of the couple as they said their vows in front of a perfect background of Virginia mountains. The bridesmaids dresses were the perfect shades of green reflected in their surroundings and the groomsmen’s coral ties and the coral florals were the perfect contrasting pop of color.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the deck while the couple took portraits, family wedding formals and wedding party pictures with the mountains in the distance.

WHAT'S NEW| Hey, y'all! I've got so much goodness going on this week, I just had to pop in and share with someone! . I volunteer with a few different organizations to support kids in orphanages and in foster care, and had the opportunity to photograph a bill signing yesterday morning to help end the foster care crisis here in #Virginia . (I'm not a morning person, as you may remember, so leaving my house for a 7AM event is a struggle for me, but it's worth it to support an end to kids aging out of foster care while waiting on their #foreverhome . . . so WORTH IT!) I felt like I was documenting history, you guys! . If you're reading this thinking, "I didn't even KNOW Virginia HAD a foster care problem," you're not alone. But the fact is, we have more room for improvement about this crisis than nearly every other state. (Follow @VAfosters or @VaKidsBelong to learn more and see how you can help!) . I also finally published a Blog post about my past summer’s trip to Africa to serve the beautiful children at POSA Orphanage in Tanzania. Check out the link in my profile! . Shifting gears to this weekend. . . WEDDING SEASON officially kicks off for me! AND I'll be photographing another surprise proposal–shhhh! So to say that I'll be in my happy place, well, that's an understatement! . I'm busy scheduling #MAPbride engagement sessions, too, and can't wait to get to spend time and get to know a new #MAPcouple or two a bit better. We always have the best time exploring! . I also randomly got new allergy meds this week from my Dr. that seem to be working, too, while we're tallying the wins for the week–ha! . Anybody else have a win to share so I can celebrate with you?
