From Alicia Hite Photography:
Elizabeth and Josh could not have been any cuter on their wedding day! I loved how they stayed traditional with giving each other letters to read. The look on Josh’s face as he read Elizabeth’s letter and saw his gift for the first time was to die for! They had a beautiful ceremony at Carrollock Farms LLC and the dance floor at the reception was hopping all night.
From the bride: Elizabeth-Josh Wedding
Josh and I met back in 2015 through a mutual friend. He invited me to lunch and a pool date and we just never stopped hanging out after that.
We got engaged October 7, 2016. He had this whole big engagement planned at Carolina Beach. He and my parents were already there but Mother Nature had other plans for him as hurricane Matthew caused the beach to be evacuated. So they drove back home to Raleigh and my parents called me and invited me to dinner at Sullivan’s Steakhouse. Meanwhile, I thought Josh was at work the whole time (he works 24 hour shifts at the fire station). I walked in and he had made a heart in rose petals and candles and got down on one knee. We got to celebrate with my parents and his that night and he had all our friends meet us at a bar down the road as a second surprise to me!
My most anticipated moment of the wedding was definitely seeing Josh for the first time walking down the isle. I couldn’t wait to see his reaction and to really just marry him! Another moment would definitely be me and my dad’s dance. We spent months in dance lessons , which was such a good experience in itself, preparing and we couldn’t wait to show everyone our hard work as nobody knew anything about it!
My wedding planning advice would be to absolutely get a day of coordinator. You don’t want to stress about anything that day and that really helps. Also surround yourself with nothing but positive people and remember it’s you and your fiancé’s wedding so do what y’all want and don’t worry about anybody else!
As far as marriage advice I don’t have much as we haven’t been married for long but as cliche as it sounds, never go to bed angry. We really try to always make up before bed and it just makes the next day much easier!
