Album Story – Courtney-Jacob HearthSide Wedding
Courtney and Jacob worked together at a store in FL and had many mutual friends, they known each other for about 6 years but have been together for 3 and a half.
Jacob proposed to her on her birthday last year in downtown Memphis at The Peabody Hotel (the one with the marching ducks) they went up to the rooftop at sunset and Jacob proposed, then had the most amazing dinner planned at Chez Phillip a 5 star French restaurant inside the hotel. It was perfect!
They decided Sevierville Tn was the perfect destination spot to get married. They found a gorgeous spot in the smoky mountains at the Chapel at the Preserve. High above the mountain tops they were married.
During the first look Courtney decided to play a little trick on Jacob and had one of their friends meet him during the first look …dressed in red white and blue…he got a kick out of it.
Q6: How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
A6: Jacob and I worked together and we ran in the same social circles. We actually didn’t get along at first and really didn’t get to know each other till after he stopped working there. We kept in touch and ended up going on a date and the rest is history. Jacob proposed to me on my 30th birthday. I at the time was 8 months pregnant with our daughter and wasn’t really excited to get dressed up and go out to a fancy dinner, but I did. He made reservations at this amazing French restaurant at The Peabody hotel in downtown Memphis TN. We arrived early and since I had never been to the hotel before we went up to the roof which over looked downtown and the Mississippi River. It was sunset and Jacob pulled me over to a corner of the roof. He told me how much he loved me and how happy he was with our growing little family and he got down on one knee and pulled the ring from his pocket and asked me to be his wife! I was shocked! Of course I said “YES”! It was an amazing birthday night.
Q7: What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
A7: The first look was my most anticipated moment. Jacobs best friend helped me prank Jacob for the most hilarious first look I’ve seen! Zack dressed up in an American flag romper (he is an ex marine) and pretended to be me standing behind Jacob tapping him on the shoulder; while I watched from the car. Jacob was totally shocked to turn around and see Zack! It was so much fun coordinating and actually surprising Jacob! We then had a traditional first look with the two of us.
Q8: Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
A8: As cliche as it sounds marry your best friend. Jacob and I have gone through some very hard times together and we have always had each others back. As far as wedding planning, just have fun! Things aren’t going to be 100% perfect but that’s what makes your wedding perfect. Those moments you can look back on and laugh at later on.
