Q and A: Corinn-Paul Wedding-Lindsey Plantation
Q: Let’s start at the beginning. How did you two first meet?
A: Paul and I met in high school when we were in 9th grade. We had Spanish class together during the spring semester of that year. We first became interested in each other when we were placed in the same group for a project. We started talking, he asked for my phone number, and I often switched seats with the person next to him so we could sit together in class! He asked me to be his girlfriend on the last day of the school year and the rest is history!
Q: What makes your relationship special? Tell us some things that you both value in your time together. (example: pushing each other to new limits, love to travel, huge comic book fans, foodies, etc.) What makes your relationship unique?
A: We had a lot of similar interests before we started dating, but as we spent more and more time together, I think our interests and hobbies really morphed together. As Clemson University grads, we both love spending Saturdays in the fall at Memorial Stadium tailgating and watching our Tigers play! We also love spending time outdoors, especially on the lake. But our love for Jesus and each other makes our relationship most special. With God at the center of our relationship, we know we won’t fail!
Q: How did you know your partner was the one? When did you first know this in your relationship? (these may often be the same moment, but aren’t always)
A: There came a point in time in college where I started to think about my future and what I would do when I graduated, and I just knew that I couldn’t see a future without Paul. He had always been there with me growing up and for me through all the difficult times and huge milestones, and I knew the rest of our milestones were meant to be accomplished together!
Q: Give us all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process?
A: I came home from work on a typical Monday night and saw Paul’s car in the driveway. I was instantly excited to see that he had just driven up spur of the moment to surprise me and have dinner (at the time I lived an hour away). Little did I know, I was in for a much bigger surprise. He left a note on my door saying to walk down to the water behind the house where he was waiting on me.
As I walked down to the dock, I didn’t see him but a bouquet of roses and another note. At the time, I don’t think I was even processing what all the note said because tears were streaming down my face, and out he came from behind me where he was hiding in the bushes. He then got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him… I said yes!
His note to me is absolutely the sweetest thing, and highlights everything I love about him. I still read it very often. Paul is definitely a planner… there were 8 roses in the bouquet symbolizing the 8 years we had been together. I knew the proposal might be coming at some point that spring, but the day of was a complete surprise… the best surprise!
