Camilla Dilmurad Wedding in Tashkent, Uzbekistan
I have known Camilla for at least 20 years since we went to school together in Tashkent – capital of Uzbekistan. She shared with me her wedding pictures and I would like to feature them below for your inspiration. Camilla Dilmurad Wedding was really beautiful as you will see below. However, first I would like to share their story of how they met and got married.
Camilla and Dilmurad met at work where they worked at different departments; however, those departments collaborated together on a regular basis. So they were colleagues for 4 years as well as good friends. Eventually their friendship blossomed into a relationship and they got married in September of 2011. It was a beautiful celebration day of their love.
Their wedding planner was Elena Petrusevich from Event Agency and their photographer was Alisher Irismetov.
Camilla shared that the day of their wedding was the beginning of a wonderful and happy family life. All the love that they have put into planning and organizing their wedding celebration, they still carry that love today in their family. Today, they have 2 amazing daughters. Camilla’s hope is that once her 2 daughters get older, they will be able to see through pictures the beginnings of their beautiful family. (In addition, below are her words in Russian).
Here is Camilla in her own words, in Russian:
“День нашей свадьбы явился началом нашей прекрасной,счастливой семейной жизни. Всю ту любовь, которую мы вложили в организацию нашего свадебного мероприятия мы несем и по сегодняшний день в нашей семье. Сегодня у нас с мужем две замечательные дочки и очень надеюсь, когда они немнооо подрастут тоже смогут посмотреть как красиво зарождалась наша семья.”
Uzbek Tradition – Wedding Ceremony:
Most of all, Camilla and Dilmurad wanted for their wedding to be fun so that family and friends could share with them the joy and happiness. Hence, they made sure to choose the right banquet hall, atmosphere, music, and cuisine. In addition, they followed beautiful and important wedding traditions of Uzbek people. I will show you the pictures below. Here is a little background on the Uzbek traditional wedding ceremony.
“Kuyov Navkar” is the first meeting between the groom and his friends. Next ceremony is “Karnai-Surnai” where the groom and his male side of the family go to the house of the bride accompanied by music. When they arrive, bride’s family meets them with hospitality and traditional Uzbek food such as Plov (rice dish), sweets, and Lepeshki (bread). Groom feeds his single male friends and relatives so that they have good luck in getting married soon. (This is similar to throwing a bouquet to single ladies or throwing a garter to single guys). After the traditional Uzbek wedding ceremony, groom takes the bride for a walk at beautiful places so that their wedding pictures can be taken.
