If you love succulents and greenery this wedding is going to melt your heart!
I have adored Ariel and Chris since the first time I met them at our farm for their engagement session. These two are the sweetest couple and I am so glad we were able to be a part of their big day. On the day of Chris and Ariel’s wedding it was pouring rain, like monsoon pouring! It was raining so hard that I actually packed my rain boots in the car before we left the house (which was a first). I am so glad that I packed my rain boots because I was one of the few people at the wedding that actually had dry feet!
Despite the monsoon Ariel and Chris were able to catch a break in the rain that last long enough for an outdoor, uncovered ceremony and just as we were finishing up portraits and heading for the outdoor reception (under a tent) it started to pour rain again.
With mud and water standing everywhere I never heard these two beautiful people complain, they were just so happy that they were able to have their dream ceremony outdoors, as well as their portraits – and their positive attitudes were contagious, because the guests had such an amazing time celebrating the love of these two all evening.
If you know me at all, you know that my favorite flowers ever are succulents – I am obsessed with photographing them, growing them, putting them in my house – just love them! So when I saw that Ariel’s flowers were mostly made up of succulents and some greenery I couldn’t be more excited to photograph them!
Secondly, my favorite color is teal and you guessed it! Ariel’s bridesmaids adorned TEAL bridesmaids dresses and Ariel herself had custom teal Converses – it is like this wedding and Ariel was just fated for me <3
This was our first time shooting a wedding at The Brown Oaks in Summersville, WV and it did not disappoint! This historic home is a gorgeous location for a wedding and we’re so thankful to have been a part of it.
Chris and Ariel – thank you so much for allowing us to photograph your wedding! I feel as if the two of you are kindred spirits to Jason and I and we are so lucky to have met and worked with the two of you.

It has been a busy few days! . Yesterday, I was running around crazy doing a secret bridal boudoir session, writing a RFP for a huge job that I am praying we get, culling shoots, turning in a claim to my insurance so I can finally get the duct tape off my car, and a million other things. . This coming weekend we have a double header wedding weekend and we are also prepping for that. . Hello BUSY SEASON of life! . Oh, and did I mention we're also working on moving? . I have a feeling I am going to be buying a lot of wine the next couple months.
