From Samantha Ong Photography:
Alexandra and Jamie are one of the cutest couples you’ll ever meet.
They don’t call it high school sweethearts, for no reason. When they met in high school, Alex was the new girl and Jamie was the determined kind of guy. Even though Alex caught all the boys attention, Jamie made a claim on her almost immediately.
Jamie’s best friend has watched their relationship blossom over the years and describes them as the perfect match for each other. In Jamie’s parents’ speech, they even through they initially decided to go to different universities after high school, they ended up at the same one and now even work at the same company!
They met in high school when Alex was 16 and Jamie was 17, but Jamie had a crush on Alex before they had officially even met. What is remarkable is that they’ve now been together for over thirteen years!
Although Jamie had been planning to propose on Alex’s birthday, her grandfather fell quite ill and was admitted to a hospice. Her grandfather asked when they were getting engaged and admitted that it was his “dang wish” to see them engaged while he was still alive. A few weeks later and to the surprise of Alex, Jamie proposed right there in the hospice when they went to visit her grandfather. It turned out that he was in on it. As another surprise and a huge blessing, her grandfather was released for being “too healthy” and is still alive to this day. Best engagement story ever!!
Alex and Jamie are so cute together, laughing and giggling with one another like the two teenagers who have just met. I love that they are still so much in love after being together for so long already. There is something just so special about high school sweethearts – they are really just meant to be. They know just how to cheer each other up and are always having fun with one another.
Alexandra had nine bridesmaids surround her on her wedding day. They all wore shades of ivory and pink and a mix of soft and sequin dresses. She also had the cutest ‘first look’ with her dad before going to see Jamie before their ceremony. Jamie and Alex’s first look was witnessed by Alex’s bridesmaids who all watched with joy when seeing Jamie’s reaction! He looked gobsmacked at how beautiful his bride was and that this day was finally here!
Alexandra walked down the aisle with her father to “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” in Chapel. Their ceremony was so sweet, with even having the adorable poem “How Falling in Love is like Owning a Dog” and ended with the breaking of the glass!
As they entered their reception, everyone participated in the celebratory Hora! Their first dance as husband and wife was just as cute. They romantically slow danced to “Just Like The Movies”.
I so loved photographing this wedding because it was honestly such a joy capturing their love! Their happiness radiates to everyone around them and you can’t help but feel the joy that they feel! It’s no wonder they had so many friends so wanting to celebrate this day with them!
