Album Story – Miranda-Doug Watson Lake Proposal
Miranda and Doug have known each other since high school and have been together for four years! They are young, in love, and so committed to each other. I was so excited to capture their proposal. Doug and I set up a “styled couples shoot” with them, and Miranda had no idea that he was going to propose. Towards the beginning of our shoot, we took out a blanket as a prop, and Doug had tied the ring to one of the tassels. When Miranda saw the ring, he got down on one knee, proclaimed his love, and asked her to marry him! She said yes! Congratulations Miranda and Doug! Cheers to many more years to come and a long life full of abundant joy and choosing each other!
Client Questionnaire – Miranda-Doug Watson Lake Proposal
Q1: Let’s start at the beginning. How did you two first meet?
A1: Douglas and I met through some a mutual friend I was asking for a ride to church from, Douglas was gaming online with the friend as I was asking for a ride and our friend could not give me a ride. Douglas was gracious enough to offer a ride to me with only seeing me at one encounter before. From there Douglas continued to give me rides to church and the relationship sparked from all the rides and hanging out together after church. When junior year homecoming for me was approaching I made up a sign and asked him to be my date and that’s how we began dating.
Q4: Give us all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process?
A4: Douglas and I had been talking about our wedding and us getting engaged for a while. We originally talked about the fall time but knowing he was going to be in the police academy at that time decided that we may get engaged earlier. Having had talked about engagement for him decided when to do it and how to pull it off was hard but he told me that our good friend Sara needed some pictures for her website that were not weddings and asked us since we are close with her. I believed the whole thing until the day of when Douglas had bought flowers for the photo shoot and would not let me pack his extra shorts in my backpack. I was very suspicious but he kept telling me that he didn’t have the ring yet so I collected myself and stopped bothering him. Sara talked about bringing up a blanket and we liked the idea so we took some snuggling pictures and after a few Douglas popped the question with the ring tied to the blanket. It was beautiful and even tho we both knew it was coming soon it was just us as the ring was tied so tight to the blanket we struggled together to get it untied and had some good laughs.
Q6: Are you excited to start planning your wedding day? Do you have any ideas in mind yet?
A6: We are so excited about planning our wedding, our plan right now is to have a backyard wedding up in Mormon lake at his parents house. We know we want all our close friends to be there as well as family.
