It took a team of 3, (Johnny, Dana, and I), to trick Gabby into showing up to her own proposal. It was actually pretty simple.
I told her I had to take a tour of a wedding venue I would be shooting at, in the Fall, and I could use a couple models to test light with. She would get some cool pictures out of it and we could make it a fun ladies’ trip. She was in. ????
To get my cameras ready for what was about to come, I told Gabby to stand in front of the entrance because “the light and planters and door all just look so great with your dress..like what an amazing shot that would be!” I’ve never really been that great at BS’ing but it worked apparently. She had no clue what was going on, and my camera settings were ready to go.
When we walked in, there was a courtyard, and down at the other end was two closed double doors. As soon as we opened them, there was a table that Johnny had set up with all of their memories on it…
We guided her through one more door, and there was Johnny, in front of the ocean, ready to propose to her, in suit and tie.
The whole proposal was a complete success and I feel so honored to have been able to document it.

Heeeey. It’s me again. And my camera. I like to put my face out there because my last couple shoots, my clients look at me with uncertainty. “Am I their photographer or just someone looking for their tinder date?” 🤷🏻♀️ So here I am, standing next to corn stalks. My friends and I drove for 3 hours to get there, to shoot for about 30 minutes, before being kicked out, with a warning about bears nearby. But I think we all got the shot we wanted of ourselves. Here’s mine! Aren’t I so cute? 🤗 📸: @lisandra__vazquez
