The muted meadow colors left from a long winter and vibrant sunlight blended perfectly with the burgundy dress the momma-to-be, Jenna, chose for the first outfit of her maternity session. She also looked stunning as she braved the freezing creek water for a few pictures! Her open-front white dress allowed her baby bump to literally glow in the sunlight! This is Jenna and Jared’s first baby. His name is Torin and is due to arrive soon!
Q1: What prompted you to capture your pregnancy with a photo shoot? How did it make you feel?
A1: This is my first baby, so I was very excited to capture this experience and the beauty of pregnancy.
Q2: How far along in your pregnancy were you when you did the shoot?
A2: I was 34 weeks to the day when we did the photoshoot
Q3: How and why did you choose the setting of your maternity photoshoot?
A3: I grew up down the road from this area and played in that creek for my entire childhood. It has a very special place in my heart and it meant so much to me to be able to do this shoot here.
Q4: Did you include other family members in your photoshoot, why or why not?
A4: We did not, we wanted it to be something special and intimate between just us since it’s our first.
Q5: Do you know the gender of your baby (babies)? If so, did you incorporate this into the shoot?
A5: We will be having a bit, little Torin Daniel but we did not incorporate this into the photo shoot.
Q6: What was your favorite picture from the day, and why?
A6: I love the ones in the creek since again, it was such a big part of my childhood, but I also loved the ones with the two of us. I think our love and excitement was beautifully captured in these photos.

Yeah, it's a picture of me, but this time the story is about the one who was behind the camera. Recently, one of my besties @deborahgracephotography dropped by in the middle of the day. We chatted a bit about life and the tough, down-right hard things she was facing. Right before she was ready to leave I mentioned that I was SO in need of a new profile pic that I was just going to set up my tripod and take a few self timer pics. Immediately she said, I'll take them for you (📷even though she didn't have her camera along and she shoots with Nikon and I use Canon…basically cameras that are backward to each other and can be difficult to quickly figure out all the different buttons when you're not used to it!) 👉🏼Anywhoo, this is where the extra special, cool part comes in… even though we were only on the front porch of my house and she wasn't using her own camera, you should've seen the light come on for Deborah! She was totally in her element and all of her giftedness and love for photography started ooozing out!! She was in her happy place!! I think whether she realized it or not, for a few brief moments the heaviness of life was lifted just a little and she could breathe in a bit of life. It was so much fun to watch!💜💜 Today, if you're going through a hard time my prayer is that you'll have moments from and with God where you can breath in life and have a little piece of "happy place" in the midst of it all.💛💛 #jessicaphotography
