Aaron Monroe: Emily-Tabitha Arts District Engagement Photos
Emily and Tabitha wanted to have their shoot located in the downtown arts district of Los Angeles. The two expressed their hesitation about getting in front of the lens but as soon they did it was pure magic. These ladies are some of the sweetest people and incredibly down to earth. Emily is a dancer while Tabitha is studying architecture. This couple lives in Long Beach but will soon be moving up to Portland. So before their official send off they wanted to mark the moment in the city where they fell in love!

There’s so much I want to say about this photo but I can’t find the words because, well … I’m speechless. This is so beautiful. I’m in awe. Shout out to the inimitable, wickedly talented @alecmillsphotography She artfully captured the chaotic essence of our life at this moment. I’m beyond grateful. I don’t know how I hit the family jackpot with all these crazy/beautiful humans. . . . All this makes me think: We are lucky and we are also incredibly privileged — we live in a beautiful home, a safe neighborhood and I get to work from home and co-parent these amazing kids with my super-hero of a wife. So so much to be grateful for. I believe the personal and political are inextricably linked. So I can’t not look at my family – this beautiful gift- and not think about how desperately I want to leave the world a better place for them —where every family can feel safe in their neighborhood or home. Where they are afforded the luxury to reflect how happy they are while goofing off on a Sunday. Where they have access to a robust health care plan that doesn’t drain their savings and one where they are not worried about measles outbreaks. Where they can go outside and breath fresh air and drink clean water!! I could go on forever… so I hope I live up to the responsibilities of my privileged life to make this world a more just and equitable place. Any way that’s my rant for the day. And so it goes when I feel grateful. If you’ve read this long I’ll let you in on a little secret: I’ve got a bald spot which is something I never realized before this photo lol— Zoom in and check it out. After that… get your flu shot this winter. Peace love and happiness ☮️❤️🍾
